Cambodia Takes Strides in Digital Advancement: Signs 4 MOUs for Development and Security

Phnom Penh: In a landmark event, Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Manet, led the 1st Digital Government Forum on March 11, 2024, overseeing the signing of four pivotal Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at fostering digital development and security.

The signed MoUs are as follows:

1. An MoU on the Digital Revolution between the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia and the Ministry of Technology and Telecommunication of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

2. An MoU on the Digital Revolution between the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

3. An MoU on the Digital Government Cooperation Center between the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia and the Ministry of Interior and Security of the Republic of Korea.

4. An MoU on the Digital Technology Center between the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia and the Korean National Information Agency (NIA).

The Digital Government Forum aims to foster collaboration among government entities, exchange best practices in digital transformation, address challenges in implementing digital solutions, and enhance citizen-centric services while prioritizing digital security infrastructure, cyber defense, and data privacy in the public sector.

The forum's broader objectives include exploring emerging technologies, fostering innovation, and facilitating networking among stakeholders to optimize government operations' efficiency and effectiveness. Local and international stakeholders are expected to rally support for Cambodia's digital economic and social progress.
